Please share your experience with thoracic endometriosis here.
Thanks for starting this topic!
For those who may be experiencing thoracic endo, or suspect they might be, here is a video that Dr. Rachael Haverland did on PRM’s Instagram in March.
Hi there. I am 33 yo and experiencing symptoms of thoracic endo and it’s pretty scary. The shortness of breath is unsettling, especially because I have a strong history of panic attacks from it. I’m starting to think this was the root cause! I’m also having pretty severe right shoulder, arm and neck pain.
I’m so sorry that you’re dealing with that! Have you scheduled a consultation with an endometriosis specialist?
Yes! I actually am seeing my PCP to rule out heart or lung conditions before checking for endo.
Hi there! Just wanted to check in and see how you’re doing. Was your PCP able to rule out heart or lung conditions? If so, have you been able to see an endo specialist?
I know you were not replying to me, but I finally had my thoracic endometriosis addressed on Jan 8th! I had a VATS with excision of endometriosis from my diaphragm on the thoracic side of my diaphragm. I also had a talc pleurodesis to hopefully prevent my lung from collapsing again in the future, since that had been the main sign/symptom leading to my thoracic endo dx.
Wow - thank you for sharing! I’m so glad you were able to have this addressed. Keep us posted on how you are doing. Who did you see for this procedure, if you don’t mind me asking?
Thank you so much! Days 1-5 were rough, but now that I am more than two weeks out I am feeling so much better! I had the procedure done by Dr. Gouldman, a thoracic surgeon. He works closely with Dr. Sinervo, an endometriosis excision specialist out of CEC in Atlanta.
