For those who have experienced endometriosis excision and/or ablation procedures, what was the experience like for you? Did your treatment resolve your pain and/or other endo symptoms? Have you had to have multiple procedures?
If you have opted not to have one of these procedures done, I’d also love to hear more as to why.
Thanks in advance for sharing. <3
I have personally had 2 excisions, 2 ablations, and a hysterectomy. The excision surgeries were amazing. My cramps and bleeding had both become much lighter, and all around quality of life did improve. My first excision surgery allowed me to get pregnant, but following my prgenancy the pain was back. My OB then agreed to do excisions every 3 years for pain management. I personally take ANY win when it comes to Endo pain. So 3 years of no pain was a huge step for me. Once I had my kids, was when I opted for my ovary-sparing hysterectomy. Best of luck!

Thank you so much for sharing. Did the hysterectomy fully resolve your pain/endo symptoms? I have been wondering that a lot.
You’re welcome! The hysterectomy has completely resolved my pain, and I feel absolutely amazing. May 2026 will mark one full year since the surgery, and my quality of life has drastically improved.
I am no longer planning my life around my period. The deep pain during ovulation is gone, and while I still experience very mild period-like symptoms since I kept both ovaries, the change in energy is incredible! As the parent of an almost 5-year-old and a 1-year-old, I can now run around, play, jump, and walk through the whole zoo without curling up in pain afterward.
As a small bonus, I have been able to naturally lose 20 pounds without any diet change, and I can wear jeans again since I no longer bloat!
